Pricing/FAQ'S

• Are you registered and insured?
• Yes. McFixit, LLC carries liability insurance through MMG Insurance of Maine and we'd be glad to provide certificates upon request. We are registered with the states of Vermont and Colorado.
• Do you give free estimates?
• Yes. We'd be happy to provide estimates for your larger projects. McFixit will do our best to stay within the costs stated in any estimate but if additional work is required, we cannot guarantee the estimate will be the same as the final bill. McFixit will provide regular updates on the progress of the job and any changes to the projected costs to the client.
  
  We prefer not to give estimates over the phone or by email; without examining the project in person any estimate will be inaccurate and be of little use.
  
  We do not provide estimates for small jobs or odd jobs (your "Honey-do" lists!). Many of these "Honey-do" jobs are of such a varied nature that estimates are also of little use.
• What do you charge?
• On odd or small jobs, McFixit charges by the hour divided into ¼ hour increments with a one-hour minimum. Materials may be subject to an additional handling charge due to costs associated with obtaining them.
  
  On larger projects, total costs given in the estimate will include labor, materials and handling charges.
• Do you work on commercial properties?
• Yes. McFixit can provide a tax ID number for payment purposes.
• What methods of payment do you accept?
• We accept cash and personal checks. We do not take credit/debit cards at this time.
• How do you handle billing?
• Once the project is complete, McFixit will send an invoice by email via online invoice site Blinksale.com. Upon request, we can provide a hard copy invoice if you prefer.
• Do you require payment in advance?
• McFixit bills you when the job is complete and not before. The exception to this is if materials costs are to exceed $200. In that case, a deposit to cover materials may be required up front.
• Do you sub-contract?
• No. All work is performed by owner Chris McVicar or employees of McFixit LLC.
